The User Requirements have been defined and are shown below.
The Database is required for :-
A Warehouse Inventory Management System.
A. STATEMENT OF USER REQUIREMENTS :
I am currently developing a Warehouse Management System for an NGO which conducts various surveys at a global scale.
Therefore they have offices at various locations and some of these locations, when necessary have seperate warehouses attached to them.
Now my task is to come up with a system which tracks the inventory.
The inventory themselves move in and out of warehouses in 2 ways:
1. An item has been given to an employee for his/her use.
They keep it with them until they are done with task and return the item back into the warehouse.
2. The item is moved from one location to another.
This means we need to track 2 things primarily - the current location of the item and its status.
The status could be idle, in-use, on-transit etc.
Apart from this, the item should also maintain the history of its statuses and locations.
That is the end of the Statement of User Requirements.
