1.0 Obtain Reporting Services

There are a number of ways of doing this.

1.1 Download it from the MS Web Site

You need to download from this Page using the link for 'Advanced Services (235Mb)'.

1.2 Install it from the CD-ROM with the 'Dummies' Book

1.3 Install it from the CD-ROM with Brian Larson's Book

The full title of this execellent book is SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services.

3.0 Check that IIS is installed

3.1 Go to Control Panel

3.2 Click on 'Add or Remove Programs'

3.3 Click on 'Add or Remove Windows Components'

3.4 Check IIS

5.0 Install IIS

Otherwise Install Reporting Services doesn't appear.

5.1 Add/Remove Programs

5.2 Select 'Windows Component'

5.3 Check the 'IIS' box

5.4 Run 'Install'

6.0 Run 'Advanced Services'

One source of this is the CD-ROM that comes with 'SSE for Dummies'.

6.1 Select 'Reporting Services' which appears as an option
